Dr. Patel grew up in Toronto, Ontario, and has since lived in many cities across the continent (and the World). She completed her undergraduate education at the University of Waterloo with a degree in Honors Health Sciences Co-op. She then attended Ross University School of Medicine where she received her MD. Following that, she completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Ascension Providence Hospital with Michigan State University, College of Human Medicine where she also received teaching awards and served as one of the chief residents. Dr. Patel strongly believes in evidence-based and patient centered medical care, and she routinely engages in extensive counseling with her patients regarding healthy lifestyle choices. Her major areas of interest are high risk obstetrics, preventative health, adolescent medicine and minimally invasive surgery. She is a FLS certified surgeon who is proud to be able to offer her patients the latest developments in the field of robotic and laparoscopic surgeries. She is extremely passionate about women's health care and women's empowerment in both personal and professional settings. It is well known that the only other subject that competes for her first love is food! She loves socializing with her friends and family in her free time, exploring the outdoors, traveling and exploring various foods/cuisines/cultures. She is very excited to have moved to sunny Colorado from Michigan with her husband, and cannot wait to take on new biking regimens and explore the mountains!
